Team Spirit Unable To Defeat Title Of Ti Champions After Loss To Xtreme Gaming

Team Spirit Losses to Xtreme Gaming

TI Champions Fall During Event Finals Group Stage Match

Team Spirit Loses to Xtreme Gaming

After a spectacular lower bracket run where Team Spirit defeated PSG.LGD,beastcoast and Evil Geniuses, Team Spirit's run in the event finals came to a crashing halt after a hard-fought loss to Xtreme Gaming. Team Spirit fell 2-1 to the Chinese team in the group stage of the event finals, meaning they have been eliminated from contention.

Team Spirit were the victors in game one. The TI champions dominated XG in game one, securing a 21-minute victory. Team Spirit secured a 10,000 gold lead by the 19 minute mark, and used that advantage to secure the victory and an early 1-0 lead.

Xtreme Gaming bounced back to take game two by force, dictating the pace of the game and snowballing a 4,000 gold lead by the 28 minute mark into their own 27 minute victory. The match was much closer than the scoreline would indicate, with both teams trading objectives and kills throughout the mid-game. In the end, a huge team fight victory for Xtreme Gaming allowed them to secure the Aegis and march down the midlane, securing a victory to even the series at 1-1.

Team Spirit were unable to bounce back in game three and lost a convincing game to Xtreme Gaming in under 30-minutes. Xtreme Gaming secured an early lead and never looked back, as Team Spirit never managed to secure a significant advantage and were repeatedly forced to take fights they did not want, and could not win.

Despite the loss, Team Spirit should be proud of their performance at the event finals. The team was able to reach the group stage of the event finals after placing third in the Eastern European regional finals, and took down three of the top teams in the world before falling to event finals debutants Xtreme Gaming.
